Yescapade 2001 saw the premiere performance of
SAXLIFE, the virtual clone-child of Yes fan
Jamison Smeltz made incarnate for this
one-off performance.

For AFFIRMATIVE SAXUAL RESPONSE,
Jamison returned to Tempus Fugitive Studios and,
via the magic of headphones and hard disk
recording, made his vision an aural reality.

SAXLIFE, a band led by Jamison Smeltz,
provided us with a unique perspective
on the Yes music we have all grown to know and love.

The band, composed of three sax players,
acompanied by trombone, guitar and drums,
played songs ranging from a
ragtime Clap to a beautifully harmonic
Turn of the Century.

He is even credited with creating the name "Yes", as well as for setting the distinctive guitar style that sets Yes music apart from all others. This work, Beyond and Before: The Formative Years of Yes by Peter Banks chronicles the early formative years of Yes, when they were still creating their style.
